Some of the Major Activities of AIMS
AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA)

Introduced from the year 2000, the AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA) is a credible option for students seeking admission to prestigious management schools in India. The Test is on the lines of GMAT, organized by the Educational Testing Service, U.S.A. But, in addition to testing the verbal and quantitative skills of the candidate, ATMA also tests the aptitude and creativity which are two key requirements for success in management.

Experienced management educators were involved in the construction of the test, and over the last decade, we have been able to put together a reliable test that is professionally constructed, administered and scored. The student performance subjected to item-analysis to ensure the discriminating validity of the items and of the test as a whole. This has been an ongoing process so that we can now claim that the ATMA scores supplied to you are highly dependable indicators of the candidate's suitability for management education and career.

Participating Institutes are supplied with candidate's percentile scores separately in comprehension, verbal reasoning, numerical reasoning, analysing and synthesizing ability. Scaled score and percentile score in each section are also given to the student.

Standard Curriculum for Indian Management Schools
Towards the development of certain standard quality in management education in the country, a Standard  Management Curriculum for Indian Management Schools was developed in a National Workshop held at Chennai, in March 1989. However, with the liberalization of Indian economy and ever changing global business scenario coupled with issues of WTO etc., the management educators have been compelled to re-architect the MBA curriculum. Towards this end, a workshop was organized at Visakhapatnam in September 2000. For the year 2001-2002, series of workshops on this subject have been envisaged by all the 4 regional chapters of AIMS which will be followed by a national workshop.
Norms and Standards for Management Schools
A Workshop was conducted in Mumbai in 1989 to evolve specific criteria and evaluation standards of Institutions and their programmes which were submitted to Dept. of Education, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India and AICTE.
National Workshop on Accreditation of Management Schools

The Executive Board of AIMS in its meeting held on November 24, 2001 at XIMB decided to extend full cooperation to NBA in the task of accreditation as well as evolving strategies to face challenges of mobility of technical manpower considering the imperative arising out of WTO and GATTS.
